The TUNE Summer Bridge to Research Program is a paid ten-week, full-time research experience for first-time incoming community college transfer students to BCOE.
As an incoming chemical engineering junior participating in the Bridge to Research program, Omar Orozco worked on an EPA P3 project focused on redesigning conventional ammonia air scrubbers to reduce their water consumption and improve their environmental footprint. Omar conducted a literature review, tested various biochar filter configurations, and collected data which he presented at the end of his ten week program.
